Our Mission

Pewman Innovation’s mission is to empower agriculture to adapt to climate change by developing sustainable, science-based biotechnological solutions that protect crops from environmental stressors such as frost, drought, and extreme conditions, all while reducing dependence on chemical inputs and promoting resilient, regenerative farming practices

Our story

Pewman Innovation Europe was founded by Franco-Chilean researchers in Biotechnology with a shared dream: to develop world-class sustainable technologies for farmers for the world. The name “Pewman” reflects that vision, meaning dream in a unique fusion of Mapudungun and English.

From the beginning, our focus has been clear: create breakthrough agricultural solutions by combining two powerful forces — microorganisms from extreme environments and organic nanotechnology.

To achieve this, our founders ventured to some of the most remote and inhospitable places on Earth: Antarctica, the Atacama Desert, Patagonia and active volcanoes. There, they isolated rare extremophile microorganisms capable of thriving in conditions where almost nothing else survives — including frost, high UV radiation, and water scarcity.

Inspired by how Antarctic plants survive temperatures as low as -40°C, our scientists discovered bacteria that naturally protect against cold stress — a discovery that would form the basis of our flagship technologies.

After years of research, testing, and prototyping, we developed cutting-edge biostimulants that help crops withstand climate extremes while being 100% organic, safe, and effective.

Today, our solutions are used by farmers to build climate resilience — naturally — without compromising the health of people or the planet.

At Pewman Innovation, we believe the future of agriculture lies not in synthetic shortcuts, but in harnessing the power of nature to face tomorrow’s challenges.

Our Technology

Pseudomonas Pewmanensis

At Pewman Innovation Europe, our technology is 100% proprietary, we do not use any microorganisms discovered or supplied by third parties. As a result of several years of scientific expeditions to the planet’s most hostile ecosystems (from Antarctica to the Atacama Desert) we have isolated extremophile bacteria with exceptional survival capabilities (Pseudomonas pewmanensis). These strains have evolved over thousands of years to develop unique natural defense mechanisms. By replicating their adaptation strategies, our biological formulations act as a natural shield that strengthens plants’ defenses, protects crops against abiotic stresses like frost and drought, while preserving the soil’s natural microbiome.

Our scientific research has thus led to innovative biological solutions, such as Crioprotect (an anti-freeze biostimulant), which protects buds and crops from extreme cold; Nanoforte (a drought-resistant energizer), which stimulates root development and reduces plants’ water requirements; as well as new solutions currently under development.

FAQs

How is Pewman Innovation revolutionizing frost protection?

Pewman Innovation introduces Crioprotect, a patented biostimulant that reduces the critical freezing temperature to -4°C, offering unparalleled protection for crops against extreme cold. Already tested and adopted in South America, Crioprotect is coming to Europe to transform the way farmers protect their crops from unpredictable weather conditions.

What exactly is Crioprotect and how does it work?

Crioprotect is a 100% organic biostimulant, the result of more than 15 years of scientific research. To create this revolutionary product capable of protecting crops from frost and drought, our teams conducted expeditions to some of the most extreme environments in the world, from Antarctica to the Atacama Desert. There, they collected organisms capable of surviving very low temperatures and extremely dry conditions. By replicating these natural mechanisms, Crioprotect recreates a protective shield around plants, strengthening their natural defenses to enable them to withstand the most severe climatic conditions.

On which crops can I use Crioprotect ?

Crioprotect is used on frost-sensitive crops such as grapevines, cherry trees, potatoes, and avocados.

When and how should I apply Crioprotect ?

Normally, Crioprotect should be applied every 14 days, except during periods of expected severe frost.

For optimal effectiveness, we recommend applying Crioprotect 3 days before any potential cold spell, at a rate of 1 liter per hectare. During the risk period, it is advisable to repeat the application every 7 days to maintain constant protection.

The product is generally applied by foliar spraying, which allows it to create a protective shield on the leaves and tissues of the plants.

What concrete results can I expect when using Crioprotect ?

Lowers the freezing point of water on plant surfaces.
– Protects crops from frost damage down to at least -4°C (depending on soil characteristics and crop type).
– Preserves crops during frost episodes lasting up to 10 hours.
– Inhibits the presence of ice-nucleating bacteria, responsible for crystal formation.
– Improves the overall appearance and vigorous development of plants.
– Protects not only foliage, but also trunks, stems, and sensitive structures such as buds, shoots, and flowers.

Where can I buy Crioprotect in Europe?

Legal approvals are currently underway to ensure Crioprotect complies with European standards. We plan to officially launch in Europe this winter 2026-2027. If you would like to be the first to know about availability and updates, please leave your email address on our contact page.

Is Crioprotect safe for my plants and the environment ?

Yes, Crioprotect is a 100% organic biostimulant, formulated from natural ingredients derived from research on extreme organisms. It strictly complies with European environmental standards and contains no toxic chemicals or pollutants.

Its use not only protects your crops, but also contributes to sustainable agriculture by promoting soil health and biodiversity.
